• 3-18-97, 7:50am - Called City of Hemet Animal Control Officer again. Spoke with him and set up a time to meet at my hour. He came over 20 minutes eary, while I way away and said he would return.
• - 10:45am- Walls everywhere. I forwarded Lily's info to the LA Times and the Orange County Register. The LA Times immediately called, only to ask me to cease and desist. Said they couldn't handle all the mail. They said if I didn't do so, they would contact my internet service provider. Didn't want to discuss the story. Just the email. I'm beginning to get very frustrated. Are we on DWL the only ones that care?
• - 11:30am- ACO came over and talked to me. He basically said that I shouldn’t have sent letters out saying that Mr Ventuleth mistreated Lily. It caused a criminal investigation to be done. He says as far as they are concerned, the matter was investigated and there was no basis for my accusations. It is over. He said that Mr Ventuleth most likely will have a good basis for a civil case against me. He suggested I stop doing what I have been doing. Ronna and I are devastated. It’s like I am torn up inside. I am so depressed. I imagine that my ISP (owned and operated by The Press-Enterprise) will be getting on my case for having emailing so many people and quite possibly for having Lily's URL on their server. I am having a hard time bringing myself to closure. Even though the city says the criminal investigation was unfounded, I still believe in my heart that Lily is being mistreated. The ACO said he saw her and he did not believe she was malnourished. Good ol' boys circling their wagons. Those who care about what is right and true have been shut down. This is just awful.
• - 3:00pm- Ok. Time to cool things off. Things are terribly tumultuous right now. I will wait and see what develops by the end of the week. I suppose everyone who has assisted should maybe cool it also, but I am not the master of anyone but myself. Ronna and I appreciate every little thing and every major thing everybody has done to help Lily get into a better situation. It's too bad we are not making the rules. I believe the rulesmakers are lacking something. This may be the last update until at least Friday. But if anything happens with the situation, I will post it.
