Chocolate Lily Updates
Lily
- 3-14-97, 6:45am - Went to the Ag Farm to see Lily. I wasn't
sure I should do this, but I proceeded. I had some peanut butter cookies for
her. Suni and Burgie were with me and we were on our way to the morning walk.
I went to the Ag Farm gate and called and called, "Teeka! Teeka!" Then, "Lily!
Lily!" I whistled for her and called again. But there was nothing but the
horses snorting and the geese honking. I left feeling very sad. I hope Lily is
safe and perhaps Mr Ventuleth had a change of heart and took her to his home.
- - West Valey High School principal Jim Smith should be contacting me
today. He told me on Tuesday that he would be doing so in a few days.
- - I had been hoping to contact local breeders about Lily. But it was
related to me that, "Unfortunately, breeders or other Doberman owners really
can't help you with Lily's situation. Although the owner of Lily is immoral as
hell, he's not illegal, so any intervention would be against the law." So I am
wodering what my next move should be. I really don't know if this statement is
true. Am I breaking the law? I'm starting to worry about it.
- 11:10am -Steve Moore, a reporter with The Press-Enterprise,
left a message to call him. I called him at 11:53 and we talked for about half
an hour. He asked me to repeat the story and I did. It sounded like he was
writing the story as we talked. He said he would check it out and get back to
me.
- - The statement regarding what is legal has been clarified. I
mis-understood the context. My mind is more at ease. Whew! I feel better.
